Ocean Kinetics was established in 1992 by John Henderson to specialise in marine engineering solutions.
It became a LTD company in 1998. That same year purpose-built buildings were created and then extended in 2000. A second workshop was built in 2002.
Ocean Kinetics is now able to provide complete turnkey engineering services - not just marine - with 25-40 designers, machinists, fabricators, welders etc.
The company is now based in three locations:
- Lerwick Harbour: Main design offices, machine shop and specialised workshops.
- Dales Voe Lerwick Docks: Heavy lift quay, heavy engineering and fabrication workshop.
- Aberdeen Docks: Workshop for engineering and marine works.
